Dragon Capital is one of the most influential Ukrainian groups in investment and financial services. Its story began in 2000, and today it covers private equity and asset management, investment banking, equity and fixed income sales and trading, and research.
The site speaks to two very different readers. International institutions want research, transactions and the team. Ukrainian retail investors want to know how to buy government or military bonds and what it costs.
Confidence on the first screen
Finance sites earn trust before anyone reads a word. With the Love Spell we gave Dragon Capital large architectural photographs, thin headings with one word set in bold, and a lot of white space. The green of the brand appears in blocks and links, never as decoration for its own sake.
The home page explains in one paragraph why investors work with Dragon Capital, then moves straight to press releases and the latest research, because that is what returning visitors come for.
Two audiences, one menu
The menu keeps institutional and retail services apart. What We Do lists sales and trading, research, investment banking, private markets and principal investments. Retail Investors has its own section with government bonds, military bonds, how to become a client, fees and sample contracts.
The whole site runs in English and Ukrainian. The Creation Spell keeps both languages on the same structure, so a page added in one language has its place waiting in the other.
On a phone the photographs crop to the building and the headline, and the service list becomes a column of clear links: investment banking, private markets and the rest.
Dragon Capital’s website now carries the weight of a 26 year old investment house and still gives a first time retail investor a simple way in.
