Bank Pivdennyi: Banking Made Clear
Bank Pivdennyi was founded in Odesa in 1993 and serves private clients, small and medium businesses and large companies across Ukraine. It offers loans, deposits, cards, payments and transfers, and a mobile app, Pivdenny Online.
A bank website talks to people who want an answer fast: how much will I earn, which card suits me, how do I open an account for my company. The site is built to give those answers in numbers and in plain words.
Three kinds of client, three doors
The very top line of every page splits the bank in three: private clients, small and medium business, corporate business. Below it, the main menu lists what private clients look for most: loans, deposits, cards, payments and transfers, premium offers and other services. With the Love Spell we used the bank’s teal and orange sparingly and gave everything else white space and clear type.
The home page opens with the Pivdenny Online app: transfers, currency exchange and mobile top up, with a phone mockup and one orange button.
A calculator instead of a table
Deposit rates are hard to compare in a table. The deposit page has a calculator instead: choose hryvnia, US dollar or euro, set the amount and the term with sliders, and the teal panel shows the rate and the income straight away. The note under the result says clearly that the figure is a guide, with a full calculation file to download.
Business services in one row
The corporate page lists what a company comes for as a row of icons: opening an account, finding your IBAN, buying, selling and converting currency, forward operations, interest on the current account and foreign trade consultations. Each one leads to its own page.
Card plans are shown one under another with the card itself, a one line description and an Add to comparison button, so a student or a new employee can compare plans before choosing. The Creation Spell keeps the calculator, the comparison and the product pages working the same way on every screen.
A client of Bank Pivdennyi can now see what a deposit will earn, compare cards or find a business service in a few clicks, without reading the fine print first.
